lt1 thermo

heyis there a cetian way that it has to fit in the housing, i mean turned wise. i have no heat and i wonser if is turned the wronge way

been there, it showes the top part of the thrmo sitting at a angle, but mine is sittinf strait up and down, i just want to know whos elses is like that

You mean the way the top "bars" are aligned? It doesn't make any difference.

hummm i guess i am going to take the heater hoses off and clean them, unless my thermo is bad, cause i had heat befor i put my 160 in, then i had to heat once winter got here, so a few days ago i put the stocker back in, and still no heat. So eaither bad thermo or, clocged heater hoses

on a side note,

Everytime the thermostat housing comes up, I want to remind everyone DO NOT use the GM service manual (1994) torque specs on the thermo housing bolts. 21 lb-ft can't be right and probably will break them.

anybody know the correct value BTW?
