Angry LT1 THATs PRONE TO CUTTING OUT

My z28 has been cutting out itermittantly since i bought it in 2000. She now has 45k miles on the clock. In 2002 i was in the states and sent my PCM to TPIS in Minnesota to have it checked out as i thought that it might be faulty.
TPIS checked it out and claimed to have found nothing wrong and it was returned. When i reinstalled the pcm she ran fine for almost 2 years only cutting 5 - 6 times and when she did cut out she threw code 16. I have since checked all connections and wiring and replaced the opti with a gm oem from summit. Now i am experiencing more frequent cutting and more codes.
The other nite i drove for about six miles (hassel free) before having to sit in traffic for about 40 minutes. it cut out 6 - 8 times on scanning i found 7 codes 16,41,42,36,48,46,51. I cleared them all. Yesterday i looked at this xy z28 (cos that is what i call it now) and started it up and let it idle in my garage for 30- 40 min before it cut out. There was 4 codes stored 42,41,36,51 . I cleared the codes and restarted the xy z28 3 minutes later or even sooner she started idling very ruff the aircon fan came on and then she cut out. This time 5 code were stored 36,48,46,67,51.
Has any one ever had such a nasty lotta codes ?????
The biggest frustration is that i am based in south africa and there is no one in this country that is clued up with these cars.

Re: LT1 THATs PRONE TO CUTTING OUT

36 = Distributor ignition system (faulty high resolution pulse or extra low resolution pulse detected)

So your opti is going for one.

48 is your MAF. Either you started the car with the MAF unplugged at one time since you got them cleared or the MAF is shot, maybe even just dirty.

Those are just 2 of the codes I got off shoebox's site.

Goto http://shbox.com/page/index.html to find out what the rest of the codes are. I can see you needing a new opti for sure. Just look over shoebox's site and see what you need to do. Then thank him for the awesome site
