LT1 swap problem
LT1 swap problem
Well we have good news. Everything is wired up, installed. fans work, fuel pump works, starter works. Battery was fairly dead, but after charging I couldnt get it to crank. I am going to home depot to get an adapter for some radiator hoses right now, but here are my questions.
Is there any timing to adjust?
First time I tried to crank it was with no maf sensor or IAT sensor plugged in, will that effect anything?
There is no front o2 sensor plugged in on the pass side because it wont fit. I need a new bung welded into the collector. Will that keep it from running?
Please help me get it running tonight!

No timing to adjust... the opti spark is fixed. IAT shouldn't matter. Would be good if the MAF was hooked up. You'll need taht 02 also... it might run for a couple of minutes until is goes into open loop and then it will probably go crazy. Is it just cranking over but, not start? Or, won't even crank over?
Well I hooked everything up, and still no go. Charged the battery up and it sounds good trying to crank, timing is not off. Just will not run. I shot starting fluid into the TB and it ran for about 2 seconds before shutting off. I checked the fuel injectors for power and they were getting 12v. Fuel pump is priming, but I need to check the psi. The pump is the stock pump from my 1996 vortec 350, which was said to put out 55+ psi. What psi should the LT1 read with the pump primed, and where do I even check it at?? Thanks alot guys!!!!!!!!! Maybe I can have this thing running tomorrow. On a good note, it sure did sound mean for those 2 seconds that it was running
Vats is removed, custom tune
Deleted out all emissions stuff also so none of that is an issue.
I am getting a smell up in the engine bay that is definetly stale gas. It's only got about an 1/8 of a tank and its been sitting a good 3 months. I dont know if that would make it not crank though.
Also, I may have wired the fuel injectors into a circuit that is not hot when in crank, which would definetly cause it not to crank. I will check it out in the morning.
