LT1 in a S10

has anyone on here done this? I searched and got alot of results where people put lt1's in an S10 blazer.. any difference? I have a 95 LT1 and no s-10 yet (i want the 94-up bodystyle). What exactly will I have to get that is a specialty thing?

I think all you need mainly is new engine mounts. Which arent very much. Jegs.com has them. Other than that all I would think you need is the 6 speed tranny and wiring harness for the PCM.

I met and picked up a driveshaft from 'SlammedGMC' many moons ago, but got a chance to see his ride. The S-series/LT1 combo both looked nice and sounded sweet. He works at a dealership locally and apparently did all of his own work.

I imagine you could contact him through this thread:

im in the process of doing it.

All you need is motor mounts. frame mounts form a 2.8 engine. an engine and depending on what kind of motor is in there now you may be able to use the tranny. You can also buy a good set of shortie headers. Any questions just head over to either www.s10forum.com or www.s-seriesforum.com Both very good sites with lots of info.

I've finished one. Did mine last year, thank god for this site and the help it has provided me! You will need conversion mounts, I got mine from advanced adapters. You can use the stock manifolds, but if you want a decent set of headers may I suggest Sanderson, they make an excellent quality shorty header. and a painless wiring harness saved my A$$ for the wiring!

Any qusetions let me know.

what about the computer? did you have it programmed and get a wiring harness or what? what about brakes and power accessories, does all that stuff keep on working as usual even though you change the computer etc.

you can get the computer reprogrammed to run your stock gauges and such. Its no problem. Its great seeing the looks on peoples faces when you pull up next to them.
