edit: what about your front suspension? is stock ok?

The 8.1@91mph was my 3rd run ever with the car, which happened to be the run I blew a headgasket. I have stock suspension, stock NA posi rearend, and I made true duals for the exhaust. The headers that work and are cheap are the Hedman's for a V8 Jeep conversion, they are shorties.

The 91 mph should put me in the 7.5 -7.7 area if I can get some traction. I had alot of wheel hop and had to feather the gas pedal. I am also only using 245/50/16 hankook street tires. Those are all the ricer excuses I have atm,

Re: lt1 in an rx7?

wow ... One of them would just be beastly.

FWIW, everyone thinks an RX7 motor is super light, but relaly their not that much lighter than an average V8. Let alone one with aluminum heads (And block if you did a LS swap) They are compact, small and heavy. They weigh alot more than they look like they would. So swapping in an LT1, more than likely would not upset the balance of the car too bad. And if it needed a custom driveshaft, there are shops around that will cut one down for you and balance it. A place by me cuts and balances for 100$ if you need a custom length one.

I believe there is a 60lb difference if you compare the LT1 to the turbo motor/turbo/intercooler and other related accessories you would remove for the swap. So, adding 60pnds and gaining alot of torque, reliability and fun.....well worth it.

V8 Rx7 guys always say..

Cheap, Reliable, Fast

Why pick just two?
