LT1 rail covers for Fbodies, where?
LT1 rail covers for Fbodies, where?
First off. Sorry, for whatever reason the search no longer works on my computer with this site.
But anyway, I want to get some LT1 Vette rail covers to fit my firebird. Who sells them, or can I modify a set easily. Also, I have Traction control in my car do I need to eliminate it for them to fit? Because I will.
Thanks

I bought mine from ebay like $50, they came from a chevy dealer. So i'd imagine you should be able to find em at either place. Very little needs to be dont to install, i cut a spot for Alternator support and cut a portion of the back section off on the drivers side. They said u can just cut the back rib off or the back portion. pic of my cover

There is a guy on Ebay selling aluminum fuel rail covers. I just got a set for mine. They are very well made and fit well. they are $140.00 but look much better than the factory stuff. His ebay store is overkill-performance I think. his ebay email is chris@okperformance.com .
i got mine from GM parts direct.com. i think they are 25 ea then the studs are like 8 bucks. with traction control you can keep it, you'll just have to mod the cover to fit around it. i used my die grinder and various attachments to make it fit. i wish i could get you the part numbers, but right now i cant use the search to find them. somethings screwy.
there are auctions on ebay that have the covers with studs. i got my lettering kit from ecklers. heres out it turned out (no, its not an LT4):

I don't think anybody actually sells them, board members take off their own and polish them up. This may be worthy of a search to pull up their recipes for doing so. Also, they do pop up for sale in the Classified forum every now and then.

Those are the same covers I have. But instead of paying the extra for the emblems, I ordered some old 69 Camaro emblems, used 3M tape, and installed them on the polished covers. I will post pics when the car is finished this weekend.
Thanks for the link again!
