For a 355, have the stock crank cut and polished .010" and reuse it. Instead of just picking a random cam, contact www.advancedinduction.com or Lloyd Elliot and they'll set you up with a great heads/cam package that will get you what you want at the most cost-effective price.

According to the GM FSM, the LT1 has 10.4:1 and the LT4 has 10.67:1. Many guys round that up to 10.7:1.
