LT1 overheating

On my 1994 LT1 swapout I put the rubber end caps on the water pump housing and it continues to crack them, then the tips come apart and the car loses coolant and overheats. Can I just run a 5/8" hose on both sides? My car is a 92 Camaro and it does not need these additional outlets - I guess.

Sounds like you should just get some "real" steel plugs!!
