LT1 oil leak ?

I had changed the engine oil and filter on my '96 Z28 in prep for the Kingman Street drags this weekend. I used an AC Delco oil filter and even made the wooden "steps" so I could drive the car up my ramps. Drain the old oil, remove
the old filter making sure the old gasket went with it and installed the new filter. After filling with 5 quarts of oil I let it run for a couple of minutes on the ramps then backed down. Now I have oil leaking out of the hole in the flexplate cover. What the hell ? I thought maybe the filter was'nt quite right but it was tight and dry. Something about the angle, being on the ramp made it leak oil. It is still dripping a drop or 2, did'nt leak before this oil change.

Cliff notes, Camaro on ramps, leaked oil, leak seems to be slowing, did'nt leak before, WTF ?

Are you sure you don't have the infamous rear intake oil leak that finally made its way down the back of the engine and onto the ground?

I just stuffed my arm back there and felt around the intake, it was dry.

I bet what happen is because of the angle the car sits on the ramps, oil ran down the cover from the oil filter when you removed it.

You may very well be correct sir, this engine had not leaked/used oil before this and after the oil and filter change it was leaking like a son of a gun. After
I determined it was'nt leaking the new oil, we headed up to Kingman for the street drags. It was pretty cool, they closed off 500 ft of Beale ST and set up a tree and had a 330 ft race. I was only able to make one pass, against a really nice big block Nova, both of are reaction times, 60 ft times, sucked but I was ahead about 2 car lengths at the end. I felt like I won the Indy 500
Thanks for the responses, now go out there, drive fast and take chances.
