Couple things to note about the "lt1"
Make sure its a 350 lt1 and NOT the baby 4.3 LT1, from what iv heard they look the exact same.
Also the caprice LT1 has a slightly smaller cam also.

The Caprice LT1 also had iron heads, not aluminum like the F-body LT1.

$175 is fairly cheap for the whole thing, let alone the block , seeing as how I have seen alot (block only)for that price or more and you would still have to pay for shipping, etc.
Are you just doing a stock rebuild on the bottom end? Turn the crank, resize the rods?
I bought a used block. I still have my original block. Dreaming of an all out build, just not sure if it'll be turbo or what.

The Caprice if infact a LT1 is the same exact shortblock as an f-body so it will work. The Edelbrock heads on the otherhand are a bad choice. You realize their heads and cam package puts less to the flywheel than a good heads and cam package puts to the tires.

Don't be so sure. They do look EXACTLY the same. Check the SPID label on the trunk for "LT1" to make sure.
Or the VIN, 8th digit: P = LT1, W = L99 (4.3)

I'd agree with Dwayne, the edelbrock heads aren't a good choice. They are pretty much the same as stock. Save your cash and get a head /cam package for a few hundred more.

Check the stamping on the block. The rear should say "5.7L" or look for the 327 number on the block towards the front.
