lt1 mechanic in portland, OR, Vancouver,WA
Does anyone know of an experienced mechanic in the Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR area? I am looking to have the optispark replaced and cannot seem to find a shop that knows much about them.

Download a copy of the factory shop manual for your car and you can do it yourself. Isn't that hard - justr tedious. If you want a link to a free dowload, let me know. Save a lot of money.

You need to give us basic info about your car - namely the year. The wiring diagrams vary by year - not all LT1's are the same.
Shoebox has the PCM wiring diagrams, which would be what's in the engine harness, and a labeled photo of the wiring harness for a 1995. But that isn't necessarily going to help you if you have a 93 or a 97.

I started doing my own work when the Stealership quoted me an outrageous amount of money for doing a tune up. Local mechanics also will quote high because they don't want to do it. I used shoebox's sight a lot and it helped me a lot. If you take your time an Opti is not that bad.
