LT1 MAF question...

So here is the dealio, I have a 96 Z-28. I recently had a miss and a MAF code pop up so I cleaned it up with dielectric cleaner. Put it back in, did my plugs over to NGK TR55's that day as well. Started the car and ran decently. After putting about 50-75 miles on it, it started misfiring something aweful. Pulled the plugs and they all apprear to be fuel fouled. Car is running rich as hell. Is my MAF the most likely culprit? Appreciate any info.

I would disconnect the MAF and see how the car runs. Also I would check for vacuum leaks.

Is it giving a code again??? I had an issue with the wiring on my MAF. It seems to happen on the latter years of the LT1 for some reason. Like mentioned above I would unplug it and see if it runs any different. At that point you can get an idea of what might be the problem.

The best way to determine what is going on is to monitor it with a scanner. Unplugging stuff can give you erroneous and non-definitive results.

What do you mean by scanner...autotap, something else? I need to get a scanner of some sort.

Hand held scanner, laptop and scanning software, etc. Anything that will let you watch sensor and engine data.

I only ask cause I have a hand held scanner, but I don't think it reads the sensors like I read about on the forum, i.e. IAC counts, O2 sensor voltage, etc.

Then it may just be a code reader.

Are you pulling any codes? That is the first step to diagnosis, especially with OBD2.
