LT1 m6 Vs. LT1 Auto

If you 2 cars the same one with m6 and one with auto.

I would think the standard would be a lil faster. But are we talking alot? Anyone got any 1/4 times on stock M6'S AND Auto LT1s?

Re: LT1 m6 Vs. LT1 Auto

manuals usually fall from rare high 13s to mid 14s
autos can probably do rare low 14s to 14.7 more or less
manuals only have the advantage of better gearing and less parasitic drivetrain loss
it's more about the driver imo

Re: LT1 m6 Vs. LT1 Auto

Stock an M6 clearly has more potential than an A4, but it's harder to get a good launch. The more powerful the car gets, the more an auto may be an advantage in spite of the power loss from the converter. But by the time you reach those power levels, you will break the stock A4 anyway! However, for bracket racing it's MUCH easier to be consistent with an automatic.
