Re: Anyone with longtubes please help....
well i dont have long tubes yet(my as&m are coming off this winter due to under 5k a year so no emissions) but i think im gonna go with the jethots then prolly a true dual system.jet hot and hooker are prolly the best but between the two jet hot is a great price and they fixed the problems with hookers(i believe thicker flanges).
btw i hear kooks is working on a header for the lt1,i might go with that if they come out in time.

Re: Anyone with longtubes please help....
I went with Jet Hot long tubes. When doing the pricing with other headers, I wasnt able to find a set that would meet the same quality, and gains that the Jet hots make. So I went ahead and purchased a set for my formula from http://www.mascperformance.com. I highly recommend them, great service, and it only ran me $515 shipped to my door. 515 bux for ceramic coated long tubes, and they are totaly worth it. For those who want to retain their air and egr, you can order it with them, for the same price. I opted without though.
As for the exhaust. muhahahahah. I went true duals. I was on a budjet, and wanted that mean true dual muscle car sound, for the best price. I went with 2 1/2 inch system, thats basicly bullet mufflers dumping under the car. Its just what I wanted. There is no catback out there that can comapre to the tone and deep rumble of true duals. Especially at WOT. Its truely a shame that gm didnt run true duals from the factory. As for clearence, its no where near as bad as people make it out to be. If your exhuast shop knows what their doing, you wont have to worry. Only way I see them being a problem, is if your car is lowered.
If your not going to go true duals, then I suggest going with a offroad y-pipe, and running some kind of free flowing system. My buddy did this on his 3rd gen. He's running 3" piping off the offroad y, to a 3" bullet mufflfer, and then dumping it over the axle. It sounds good as well. I am not a fan of the crossflow mufflers that our cars are generally stuck with. Mainly because it is a restriction. the loudmouth, mufflex, slp t.o.t.l, and spintech are the only catback I recommend. Mainly because they are the least restrictive. But as you can see, I always will recommend true duals before them
Good luck.

Re: Anyone with longtubes please help....
Hooker was the best but I am hearing that jet hots longtubes are nice and cheaper. But always get them coated or you will be replacing them soon. And go with true duals if you dont have emissions. True duals are cheaper than any catback. It costs about 250-350 with x-pipe, bullets, and labor for true duals. It cost about 300 to install the headers. Go for it, it adds nice hp.
Re: Anyone with longtubes please help....
I'm running the Hooker LTs that are jet-hot coated,(bungs in collectors, recommend) with the Mufflex Y pipe into a 3 inch hooker cat-back.
Had it for about 6 years now, love it !
