LT1 to LS1 Swap need info
LT1 to LS1 Swap need info
i have a 94z with the lt1 an wanna swap it with the ls1 an have a few questions im not sure about. first i wanna kno if the lt1 flywheel an bellhousing off the m6 transmission will bolt up to it? also if the intake manifold would bolt up? an if it does could i use the stock fuel rails an injectors or need to upgrade the whole fuel system to handle a higher presure injector? any info would really help not to familier with the ls1 thank you.
The LS1 injectors will interchange with the LT1 injectors, and they are both rated 24 #/HR at 43.5psi (LT1 system) and 28 #/HR at 58psi (LS1 system). But the fuel systems are totally different. In addition to the operating pressures noted above, the LT1 has a recirculated, vacuum compensated system. The LS has a dead-ended system, with no vacuum compensation.
The LS1 engine, while called a "Gen 3 SBC" has very little in common with the LT1, other than both being made by GM and both having the same bore center spacing. Other than that, some incidental minor parts interchangeability is all you can do. Totally different firing order, intake port spacing, exhaust port spacing, etc, etc, etc.
