I noticed I have a lot more 'pedal' control. I feel better about my brakes ability to be finessed (or aggressed ). They definately feel more 'refined'.

so it sounds like the z06 are easier to get parts for (well quicker anyway) and the baer will have to be mail ordered if there is a problem. can someone tell me the difference in rotor sizing? ls1 to z06 to baer (baer is 13" X 1.1" on there $750 track series) and going with the z06 parts what year calipers and rotors? i am guessing that the brackets wont need a specific year. (just for my car 95).

Well, I have both cars, z06 and z28. I have run the z06 on track alot and now turning my z28 into track car.

The z28 stops good at first, close to as good as the z06, but you only get about 3/4 of one stop before the brakes really fade bad. With the z06, I can go deep into the braking consistently. The z28 brakes are really scary after one really hard stop. A couple of weeks ago at roebling I went hard into turn 1 which in the z28 is about 130mph to 60 or so and the brakes could not handle it, I had to brake earlier.

Also with the z06 brakes, you scan get the pfcz pads which cost110 for the fronts, but with ifetime warranty from autozone. I trade my pads in after every track weekend. They are not the best, but IMHO better than the stock z06 pads, but free replacement makes up for alot.

The rotors are dirt cheap, you can get them from rockauto.com for under 30$ shipped.

That is why if you are even slightly $$ conscious go with the z06 /c5 for great braking at a much lower price.
