LT1 and L98 crank - balanced the same?

Is the LT1 crank balanced the same as the L98 cranks?

I was under the impression that the LT1 crank is lighter, because it uses lighter pistons/rods.

Thanks for the reply shoebox. I think you're right, but do you know if the net balance is the same between the two motors (i.e., is the flywheel/flexplate counter balance the same)?

Dont' know. I'm not an expert in this area, but there are some people on here that are. Hopefully some input will be forthcoming.
