Lt1 knocking/ticking
Just joined the site, heard there is alot of information on here. My car started knocking/tapping sunday night. I have good oil pressure, 60-80psi. You cant hear it really at idle but around 3k rpm it gets loud then gets quieter as the rpm goes up. The rev limiter is set at 6.5k and shift light at 6.4k. Shouldnt the mods it has handle that? I havent changed the oil yet to see for metal shaving.
Just went and started it with the valve covers off to check the movement of the valve train and when I shut it off I saw the oil glisen with silver. Its done. The motor is getting pulle or dropped. Which is better? Out from the top or bottom? Where can I find detailed instructions on how to do this?
