Looking for some input on my situation here. It all started last fall, car ran great all year and then on a rainy october day the car started to randomly shut off. Had the car towed home and put it away for the year. Finally got my *** in gear to get it going with the nice weather in march. Car ran perfect, figured it was just the water. Brought it to a local shop to have it inspected, turns out it had a leak in the fuel tank so they failed it. I broght the car home as they wanted over 1000 dollars to put a tank in it. The car also needed a starter which I knew, but they quoted me at 450 dollars for a starter installed. Left that place a little upset with no money spend.
When i got the car home I dropped the fuel tank and found a pin hole in the top of the tank courtesy of some ******* putting screws in the trunk to mount amps( prior to me owning the car). After battling to get the tank out for hours I decided its a great time to do a fuel pump considering it has 110,000 miles on it. I put a racetronics kit in with the walbro 255 pump. Got the car running and drove it around for about 40 minutes with zero problems other than my over drawing starter that kills my battery every time i start it
Tonight i installed the starter car fired up like nothing. Decided to hose it off quick since it had a ton of dust on it from sitting for so long. Drove the car about half a mile then it did some weird things then stalled. My rpm gauge went down to 0 but i could still her the car running and it had no power, then it died. this is all in a matter of 5 seconds. flicked the key foward and listened for my fuel pump to kick on, it did. started the car made it to a driveway then it stalled again. tried to crank it over on the third attempt it fired up. Let it sit there and idle for 2-3 minutes then headed home and had 0 problems. As the car sits it will fire right up and rev out perfectly fine.
Only thing i can real think to do at this point is to test the fuel pressure.(need to buy a gauge first) Essentially it seems that every time it gets wet it will do something funky, in october when it did it was like someone shut my key right off, not this time though. The car is on its third opti, Its a chandler motorsports opti. The first one i got from them died pretty fast, this one has about 7-8k miles on it. car runs perfect, no skiping or sputtering. Also the key switch seems fine. Any input would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the novel here but i wanted to describe my situation as accurately as possible. The car is a 1994 camaro z28.
Thanks for the help,
Jimmy

Re: lt1 issues
I'd also consider the ICM/coils/wires .. I had a bad ICM which would stall the car while driving randomly. Pop the clutch and keep going.. Eventually it got bad enough I could idle it in the yard and it would stall. Replaced the ICM and problem solved.
If it has lost power more than once but didn't stall though I would look at fuel first. The ICM would stall you but not make you idle with no power..
