lt1 issue
ok i have been trying to figure out my lean indiaction for the past few weeks every since the 306 install, well i that been doing everything from playing with fuel pressure to changing o2's. and still nothing, weel today i thought i would unplug the mass air and see what happen to the readings and they went straight to 700-800mv on both sides, so that tells me that the o2's arnt the issues. pluged the mass air back in and the o2's went back to what they were doing, low 100mv for the lft side and 30ish mv on the rt side. so i took off the airfilter assembly and the readings seemed to stready out. havent put the airfilter assembly back on yet. i had cleaned the k/n filter during the install and i might have gotten to much oil on the filter, could this could issues with the mass air reading? when the filter was on it was sucking very loudly. and i also have the mass air descrened, im trying to fine the issue i am having with the lean indication so any help would be nice.
thanks Sean

just curious do you have a dynotune? not sure about your 02' readings, but I know when I put in my 306 and heads and stuff. I had a real lean condition, it was my mail order tune, I had to have about 8 hrs. of live tuning to get it pretty close, I still have a split blm problem. but I heard that is hard to get rid of with the overlap of the 306 cam.
well i have a idea, i have not changed the mass yet, but what do u think about the injectors causeing the issue???? or the fuel pump?????? the pump is only 4 months old and it is a 92 tpi pump, so i wouldnt think it is the fuel pump, but the only reason i was thinking the fuel pump was due to it seems to be on the lft side no matter what i do, the fuel goes in the right side and exits to the left right, well i was thinking that the fuel pump isnt supplying enough volume to substain both sides, but the only thing about that is the pressure is staying good through out the rpm range, that is telling me that the pump is good. so then that leads me back to the fuel injectors. I dont have any idea what else could be causing this issue. and both o2's are new and are cking good. well i guess i need to try the mass then go from there. any other idea would help. thanks Sean

Its only a problem when you over-oil the filter and the oil ends up on the MAF sensor elements. If you follow the instructions for cleaning and oiling the K&N, you will not have a problem.
well after it was all said and done changed another o2, and a fuel filter and the issue seems to be gone. i still need to change the oile due to smellin like fuel, but other then that the o2's are tracking right and engine is running smooth. now all i have to do is see if it lasts, then get it on a dyno to see what i can tweek out of it. shooting for 350 rwhp.
