If one is red---it is no good. You can send it to me and I will dispose of it for free.

The baby LT1 is a 4.3 liter V8(L99). It was in Roadmasters and such. It looks just like an LT1.

It is the small cubic inch LT engine that was available in certain models of the full-size Chevy bodies 1993-1997, but not F-Bodies. I think they’re currently about as-rare-as rocking horse manure.

there are very slight differences in the intake castings from year to year and the 4.3 and 5.7 they will work fine but the minor flow differences are what some stock class racers look for

Yeah those red ones were color coded at GM, red represents defects. They had the wrong size ports machined into them and should be considered hazardous to handle.

You can send it to me and I will send it to Bubba for proper disposal.

The L99 was the base engine in the Caprice sedan ONLY and the intakes were the same as the LT1s got for the given year.

There are rumors of one L99 wagon but otherwise all wagons, Roadmasters and Fleetwoods had only the LT1 as an engine option.

People want to make WAY too much over the L99-LT1 differences, my LT1 currently wears the intake and valvecovers from my old L99, the oil pump drive is in a friend's stroker, the oilpan has been on my LT1, and the crank and rods from it reside in a LT1 block these days, runs fine but not a worthwhile motor, guy who put it together pulled it after a fairly short time lacks torque and the pcm can not support the revs it wouls need to make power.

And if it did, wouldn't it be a "water heating passage"? That would be why we do the TB coolant bypass.

The L99 is 4.3L, or nominally 265ci.
