LT1 id?

So I went by my mechanics shop today to drop him off some money and was looking at my block as it was suspended on a lift. I noticed that it said 327 all over the block. So here are some numbers that I can see in these pictures I took.
-On the back of the engine block on the lower passenger side it has the number 588.
-On the crank it has (I think) the number 14088528.
-Inside the engine on the bottom of the block theres a number that reads A2#, I don't remember what the last digit was.
-Also inside the engine on the bottom of the block it says 636 or something like that.
-On the outside of the block (I don't remember which side) it has the number 327 with the number 5 below it.
-On the outside of one of the heads (don't remember what side) on the rear side it says 64137.
-And the last crappy picture I took shows 627 (I think) with the number 52 below it and a number 1 below 52.

I know this is a real bad explanation, but that's the best I could do. I was just wondering if because it says 327 all over it that I realy had a LT1 engine. And why, if it is a LT1, why did chevy put 327 on the block instead of 350?

yup thats an lt1...not sure why they chose that for their casting numbers. Also on the rear of the block behind where the intake would sit the last three digits there should also be 327

They used "327" because the full GM part # for the LT1 block is 10125327. Its very easy to differentiate it from the Gen 1 SBC's, because of the unique timing cover, the reverse flow/gear driven water pump configuration, and the dry intake manifold.
