lt1 honing ring and bearing question

Is honing re-ringing and main and rod bearings a good idea for a mid life lt1? i was going to do it just as a refresher. on another note .. can you use stock retainers with aftermarket springs??

Re: lt1 honing ring and bearing question

Well, the OEM bearings will easily make it to 150k 250k if you are religous with your oil changes. Piston rings will live just as long but performance will start to suffer as they wear. Most springs have a matched retainer for them. But if it is an OEM replacement spring im sure its ok.
