LT1 Heads

Does anyone know if there is a difference in the LT1 heads used for a Z-28 vs. the ones used for the Caprices, Cadillacs etc? I found a set of new heads for sale but don't want to buy them if they are for an application other than for my Camaro.

The ones on the camaros and trans ams are aluminum. The ones on the caprices I beleive are iron, sombody correct me if I am wrong. But as far as interchanging them I do not think there is a problem with that.

But the heat transfer characteristics of the iron heads is one of the reasons the B-Body engine has a lower compression ratio.

While the F-/Y- Body heads are all interchangeable, there is an "early" and a "late" design and they differ in regard to their suitability for porting. Do a "search" for a thread that has photos of the two different heads, with part #'s.
