LT1 haters
Thanks for posting that up, I was just looking for it! I ended up spending around 500 or 600 on it in totall.
-Bought the box from Bob
-Bought used coils from Hawks Thirdgen
-Bought Taylor cut to fit wires
-Bought LS1 style re-location brackets from Thunder Racing
-Bought wire guides, that allow the spark plug wires to run up and next to the heads from Thunder racing.
-Also a few things in between like some wire looming, spare nuts and bolts here and there. If this thread is still going a few weeks from now, when I take out of storage I'll post some pics.

Ive only had a LT1 for about a month now and I wouldnt go back to Carbed.
But an LS1 in my LT1 looking car....................now that I would go for. LOL
When you say Relocation Brackets, i want to know what you mean. Are your coils mounted on your Valve covers?? You see I have this DAM air box for my ram air Factory Hood that makes it hard to get four coils on the driver side.

My town is absolutely full of Mustangs. I'm sure this isn't the only place where it happens. There are a few 4th Gens around here too. Fortunately the LT1 cars outnumber the LS1 cars! There are a few around here starting to show their face..few H/C LT1 cars. I love it. It makes me proud to own one.
After all these years of watching youtube videos I actually signed up to youtube because of some of the comments on this video, lol. Like that retard that said "compare a stock LT1 to a GT500KR" the cars are in two completely different classes. One is a "Super Car" and the other is just a little grocery getter.
Only hating I have seen on the LT1 is on the boards. Here in town everybody appreciates the car. They love the way it sounds. Gotta a buddy with an 11sec ls1 yest still likes the sound of the LT1 better. Another guy I know working on his 800rwhp/1000rwhp on juice combo'd 02 TA and he loves the way the car sounds. Guys here know the car. They know who I have raced. And though I lost to a 01 Z28 with full exhaust, cai, and 150 shot by 3 car links from 60-120 it doesn't matter it's still respected.
Ran a new at the time 06 vette from 65-130 and lost by 1 link mostly my driving. I had the car for about three days and didn't downshift till he was already going had I already been in third it prolly would have been a tie. That was before 4.10's, msd opti/coil, and tune.
Lt1 led the way for the ls1 plain and simple. It was GM's transition from a timing based ignition system to a pcm controlled ignition system. Without the tests and failures and long term reliability issues of the opti they may have continued utilizing it but it defintily led the way for the coil/plug set up we have today. The opti spark was a huge step for GM in 92 when it was integrated into the vette!
I don't know why I typed all that you guys know this! At this point I'm gonna post it......

People can say whatever they wish about the LT1. In my own opinion it is damn near bullitt proof. Mine has 265,000 miles on it and I can still go outside and fire it right up. It is tired and needs to be rebuilt, but it stilll runs and has never left me stranded in the 14 years that Ive owned it. I really cant wait to get started on freshening it up, it will be alot of work but fun work for the most part.
possibly the most ignorant post I've seen, in the top ten for sure. The aluminum 4.6 blocks can handle 2500 horse, stock block. There's a guy pushing 2200 horse on one, of corse it's turboed, and the only thing that've had to replace is head gaskets now and then. It is truely amazing what that little motor can do when it gets air shoved down it's throat. And the 4 valve heads flow outragous numbers. Stock form, execpt for the 03-04 cobra's, the motors do suck hind tit, but the potential of it, for being so small, is unbelievable
. If your having trouble with bolt-on 5.0's you might want to replace that sweet front mount dist. Ignorant much?
This whole thread is getting a bit silly. True, the LT1 is antiquated technology. But it still makes good power as it is based on a very tried and true design that has been refined over 40+ years. Stock for Stock or bolt-on for bolt-on, the blue oval boys have not had a leg up on the f-body since the early 90's when it was TPI vs 5.0. The f-body has always been the stronger. And like I said earlier, although it is impressive that they can get 280 hp at the wheels with a little 281, they are no faster or more powerful than our antiquated 10 - 15 year old cars. It is not our fault they chose to use smaller engines for the mustang. And when you start going down the "money is no object" path as stated by someone above, who cares. 99.99999% of us will never go down that path so the argument is moot. The LSx based engines are superior to our SBC based motors and yes they are still pushrod motors. Again, so what? When it comes to putting power to the street, LS1 or LT1, the Ford crowd has always been playing catch-up.
