Lt1 fuel injector HP boost

i just got a 25th anniversary trans am and im looking to make this thing get a little over 350 bhp and i already started with cold air intake, bbk twin 58 mm TB, and full magnaflow exhaust -headers. i was planning on getting injectors but i have no experiance with them at all so i was curious about how much more HP soem 24lb injectors would give and what else i would have to do to make them effective if anythign at all.

I'm pretty sure the stock injectors are 24lb. Anyways... you're not going to be able to make more power with just changing out the injectors. I'd suggest a mild cam and a tune if you're looking for that kind of power. The mods you have so far are putting you on the right track. I'm pretty sure the stock injectors would handle that kind of power.

The stock LT1 PCM can't adjust for larger injectors. So that would have to be tuned to correct. The only way you would pick up power is if you didn't have enough fuel to begin with and the larger injectors supplied that. 60lb injectors would support somewheres around 600+hp I'm running 42s on my setup. Hope that helps.

Do you have long tubes or shorties? You can get a mail tune from a couple of places. 1.6 roller rockers installed. Have you done the "free mods"? Coolant by pass, etc. I would stay away from taking the screen off the MAF sensor. It will not hinder your power levels. I took mine off and now I have a slight stumble in the idle.
Stay away from the injectors till you need them. Bigger isn't going to do anything. Once you start getting more air into the heads, then you will need bigger injectors. The heads is where the power is.
Are you shooting for strickly a bolt on car or is heads and cam an option.

Just curious... Did you port your intake manifold opening to match the 58mm throttle body?

The stock injectors are 24#s. With the mods you have now, there is no reason to upgrade. If you did, you would have to spend additional money to have the PCM tuned.

Headers,y-pipe,catback,1.6 roller rockers, mail-order tune, throttle body bypass are all mods that will add power and still not put you in the range where you will require bigger injectors.

Why do you feel you need an aftermarket intake manifold? Again.... its only necessary when you start getting up into the huge HP range.

He asked about porting the intake manifold to 58mm because the stock holes in the intake for the throttle body bores are only 52mm. Putting a 58mm TB on 52mm holes isn't going to gain much. But then its questionable whether you really need to go to the 58mm TB with a basically stock engine.

My suggestion would be that before you start spending money on a 58mm TB and an aftermarket intake manifold, you take the time to put together a long range plan of where you want your mods to end up, then research what is required at each step along the way. Throwing money at unneeded parts is not the way to go.
