Paul, I replied with the email asking if it idled rough. If so look for a dead cylinder.

I understand your reading the O2s and agree but have you ever tried disconnecting one to see how it runs when warmed up?

Re: LT1 Coil Nightlight Normal?

Update-

Finally got back to working on the car today. I unplugged the driver side 02 and the car started fine but displayed the abs inop light. Is that normal?

Heated the opti for 30 minutes with a hair dryer until hot to touch. The car started and idled fine.

Thoughts?

So how did it run with the O2 unplugged AFTER it warmed up?

Ok, plugged the datamaster in and ran it to get to temperature. Put up on ramps and unplugged the driver side o2. The abs inop light came on but went out. The o2 mv read 453 on that side and stayed there. The car idled fine, but as soon as I put my foot down it fell on its face. I drove back home and plugged it back in.

The car seems to have issue around 185 degrees. Open or Closed loop, light or heavy throttle timing is getting backed out .1 to 4 degrees.

Re: LT1 Coil Nightlight Normal?

can pretty much garauntee the opti is bad. resistance goes up with heat. could verywell be that your "test" warming up the opti didnt warm up the part that is failing internaly in the opti. and you only warmed up the outside of the opti. good idea though, but you cant use that test to rule out the opti. as for the plug wires/plugs being bad only when warm, never ever seen that. and, a misfire resulting from a bad plug or wire, wouldnt cause a backfire. only timing can cause a backfire. except in an extreme lean condition. seen that too. you can swap on my svo inj.s if you still want to, but again, your o2 readings would be very low if the eng. was goin lean. and you said they swing still.

on a side note, I had Ion do a mail order tune for me also. drove it like that for years. threw it on a mustang dyno and had someone tweak it. I have a white car, and the bumper always got sooted up. anyways, it ran perfect. but, at wot, the car would go very rich. I picked up 20rwhp at the peak with one quick change to the tune. Ion's mail order tunes are great, but it is just an educated guess. you need a real-time tuner on a dyno to get the most from your combo.
