You can figure about 10 hp for the CAI and that's worth maybe a tenth in the quarter. You'll see a big gain going to drag radials over the stock tires..maybe half a second. Stock these cars run about 13.5 to 13.7..these changes will have you in the low 13's.

Changing to a cam that doesn't require you to change anything else really isn't worth the effort. The idea behind changing the cam is to increase the air flowing into and out of the engine. If nothing else changes you won't see much change in flow....

Re: 1993 z28

You can start with simple boltons like cold air induction & catback. 3.73's & a mail order tune from Pcm4less at this point can be good also.

Then later on you can do the more expensive mods like, cam & heads from Lloyd Elliot or Advanced Inductions, 52mm throttle body, long tube headers, electric water pump, & a small stall convertor. Now you are ready for a dynotune.

A 150 shot of nitrous is always an option when combined with the above can give you high 10's or low 11's.

Good luck

Basic bolt-ons should get you there.

You can easily spray a 125-shot.... that will knock more than 1 second off your 1/4-mile ET, and add about 10 MPH.

Ignition. You have a bad plug wire most likely.

Re: 1993 z28

What does the dash volt meter read when trying to start the car? ..... at idle? .... while cruising at 2,000rpm? Have you inspected the wiring from the battery to the starter for corroded terminals, or corrosion damage to the wire strands?

Re: 1993 z28

Check your fuel pressure with the engine under load. That will tell you if its a fuel problem.
