My car is basically stock....I had snow tires on it and when it was a dusting my car went nowhere. I would highly recommend a winter beater. I am a good driver i can handle my car but in the snow its a no go even with snow tires... i had 225/50/16 snow tires on my car and i couldn't go anywhere. Invest 1000 or less and get a winter car.
no offense dude but if you couldnt go anywhere in a dusting you either really cant drive or you got ripped off on snow tires. drive a Z in winter is adventerous yeah, but not a big deal if you know how to do it.

snow+fbody=200ft into a field!

Snow tires is a must and dont skimp on them buy the best ones out there.

After my winter excursion you can bet ill never take the ss out in the snow again.

Altough i got lucky no damage to the car except the cooling system took a dump on me oh well. 200 dollar mistake.

To beat a dead horse...

I don't drive my Z in the snow but many people underestimate the power of snow tires. All season tires make a lot of sacrifices for the all season moniker.

Snow tires turn an impossible situation into a manageable one.

Also, don't forget to check and see if someone has installed a 160 stat, you will want to replace it with a 180 or so, if you want any heat at all.

I just moved from Clarence(Buffalo) in October and I had to drive my TA 2 winters ago when my beater lost reverse in February. Luckily the huge snow was over at that point, but I survived nicely with 2-60lb bags of sand in the back. No snow tires either, Falken Ziex 275/40/zr17's. This winter, I was in Florida, so no worries.
Fun in the snow video
