Depends on how much to want to put thru it...

My favorite budget setup is a Scat 9000 Cast Crank, Scat or Eagle I beam rods and Mahle Flat Top pistons.

I agree with Bret. Those are good parts for a decent HP car. I went with I beams in my 355.

Which costs roughly.....?

EDIT:
I know that I could look it up piece by piece on summit or jegs.
It's just that the way you phrased it carries the implication that you've seen that setup sold as a package somewhere. If that's not merely my interpretation, I'd like to know where you saw it so that I can make a note of it.

Re: lt1 383 stroker kits

if i remember correctly,,been a few weeks
scat crank 900$ + balancing 230 or so = 1130
I beams are around 250 H beams around 430
pistons 425

1805 with i beams
1985 with H beams

thats what i remember when i had stuff quoted, probably be cheaper if you order stuff yourself, but usually when u ordre from a local shop, they'll check stuff out before you put it in your car, worth the extra $ imho

Re: lt1 383 stroker kits

Scat 9000 crank is a cast crank and wont run you 900. More like 200 plus balancing.

You could also go with KB hypereutectic pistons too if you wanna save a few bucks. They are actually pretty strong for NA applications.

Re: lt1 383 stroker kits

Thanks everyone for you input and im not looking for the cheap way out, so price is not an option. i hear forged is better then cast so im most likely going with a forged crankshaft. I was thinking about eagle H-beam since there stronger then I-beam. I am not too sure about pistons and good brands people recommend? If anyone thinks i am making the wrong decision be sure to put your 5 cents out there.

If anyone wants to help me with my decision with the 383 stroker and has 'aim' please pm or post your screen name so we can talk and you can help me out a little and maybe i can help you out. I have many questions like what should i bore it out to? and will i need new this and that?

-thanks jon

$1100-$1000 roughly..... I've used these parts in motors and I basically sell them so that's where I get the info from.

Re: lt1 383 stroker kits

I was going through the same thing you are now about 6 months ago. I looked into the following sites when building my 383 (I ended up purchasing a complete short block from the for sale section though.) I had some other sites that sold rotating assemblies but I cant find them. Theyre all good for comparing pricing though.

http://www.speedomotive.com/LT-1%20C...0383%20KIT.htm

http://www.cnc-motorsports.com/category.asp?CtgID=1020

and
http://www.cmotorsports.com/93-97-fb...-97-fbody.html
but the engine section is down for pricing changes.

I have many questions like what should i bore it out to?
a 383 needs a .030 overbore.

make sure you put some thought into your engine, hindsight is 20/20. listen to the big guns here
wish I did when I was piecing mine together!

edit: I see youre from doylestown, I bought a set of heads from a dude with a blue camaro down there a while back. my aim s/n is zigroid. I won't have a computer for a while though, I'll be gone for a few weeks but im coming back to PA soon.

Re: lt1 383 stroker kits

I got my 396 forged stroker kit with eagle crank and h-beams internally balanced and shipped with all pistons, bearings and rings for $1800, although it was a group purchase. Dave at CMS is good to work with.
