Lightbulb LT1 383 crate in summit!

I just saw this the other day and wonder if anyone say this too. They have a LT1 383 long block with afr 190s, xe224/230, with 10:1 pistons, 5.7 rods, and scat crank. All for $6000. Doesnt look too bad. Thought about getting that and swaping that in for a v6 camaro and swap the cam I have in my room, 230/236 110. Anyway just a heads up for anyone who didnt see it.

It was in the catalog with the other crate motors. I think it is page 44 or 88 or something like that. I was in the new one that had all the new parts for the LT1 in it.

you think that would be a good replacement motor for those with high mileage lt1's? like obd1 and obd2? would it have any problems??

SIX GRAND

That is a lot. Plus...you still would want to port the AFR's, convert to 4-bolt mains...etc. You can do a lot of schitt to a LT1 car for $6k.

I agree with the above statement. Today you can get a clean LT1 fbody for 6 grand!

Does it have forged internals? If so it might actually make a good blower motor.

If you look closely you'll see it's built by Recon Engines. FWIW, my brother is a marine mechanic, and they've had so many bad motors from them, they refuse to use them.

I agree with 96TurboTA. We sold Recon engines at the parts store I used to work at. Had nothing but complaints about everything we sold of theirs. I would stay away from that motor for sure. Sounds like a $6k butt pfuc to me.

Spend another 2k I Will have you a 355/383 fully forged and twaeked D1 procharged blower motor. Thats with a machine work, P&P on the heads, every single part new in the motor, and the Blower new.

Well 8.6k its all on my web page.

Man, that is WAAAAAAAY overpriced. Plus they give u a pretty small cam for a 383. I have a friend who runs that is his stock LT1, and he thinks it isn't even that aggresive for a regular 350.
