I need a new battery...... What one?

Ok I need a new battery, I had my car tested the other day and was told that its not holding charge very well.... this would fit with the hard starts the longer its been sitting. I went and looked but I have no idea what one to get, I was jsut going to get the optima red top I think it was, cause it was red to go with my car, but they also had the yellow top, and there was other batteries as well, whats a good battery to jsut start my car, I dont have a system, and never will.

I jsut want to do this right this time and not have to worry for a few more years.

the red top is used for everyday use, whereas the yellow top has a deeper cell which aids in the use of large stereos , extended use,etc...

I don't know much about these...I just have a regular Autozone battery on my car, haven't had any problems with it. Oh, and no system here either.
the place I was looking it was 120 for the red, and 145 for the yellow, and 100 for a normal black somebrand or another, Canadian money. I have a generic battery now, and it doesnt look nice either. So I'm going to do it right and get a good one that looks good too.

I paid $75 for a Duralast Gold 900 CCA battery from Autozone. Should be fine... No need for anything fancy to start the car unless you want something for looks.

Only 120 can. for an Optima? Good deal. It may cost more at first, but they WILL last longer than a normal battery. With an Optima, it can withstand going dead more times than a regular battery. It can also handle the high heat under our hoods better than the regular ones as well. It's a terrific battery that I would recomend to anyone, and it's not just for looks. Don't waste your $ on a yellow top. They won't last as long as a "starting" battery. They are designed for large electrical loads, so unless you have a stereo, get the red top.
Just some other info, Optima red tops last at least 4 - 5 times longer in the desert on generators than the normal batteries. That has gotta say something about their quality.

You want a red top... that is the best starting battery. The yellow top is meant to be discharged and recharge quickly (ie, you would put yellow tops on a car with hydraulics or throw them in the trunk for a fat system). I have a red top and it's beatiful, first crank starting every time.
