Lt1 / 350

I had an LT1 motor all built up and as it was getting its final tuning/timing, everything was perfect, then went to drive it around and it threw a rod , didnt bust through the bottom of the pan , but did really mess up my block, and shatter some pistons, opened the pan up and there was a nut missing on one of the connecting rods damn that sucked, and this was manufacturered/bought new =(, but any how i was just curious what can be transferred over to use if i wanted to use an old 350 block, gen1 instead of 2. intake / heads work ? no? Thanks..

The entire bottem end is the same as sbc gen 1. The heads really arnt. They would need a lot of costly work. Roller rockers would work.

Re: Lt1 / 350

nothing will work with a older style block the heads are set up for reverse cooling and the older blocks are not, you can use the internals except the cam and maybe the crank if the the block has a 1 piece rear main seal..
