Just give it a little while bro, you will get some help. There are some very educated people on here as far as mechanics and these engines in general.

This is double posted. I answered this in the other thread. Be careful about double posting, the mods get impatient. I strongly suggest you remove one of the threads immediately or risk the rath of the Internet gods.

If you have an LT1 donor car it will make your life MUCH easier (i.e., your 94). You will nickel and dime yourself to death if you don't.

RamAir95TA, certainly having a donor car will make the engine, tranny and their wiring harness move easier. What about interfacing with the interior - the dash, the gauges, the BCM, etc.?

yeah im not sure about the interior...its pry similar to when you put a lsx motor in a 96 but just reversed...luckily i will have both cars so if i have to i can just pull everything out of the 96 and put it into the 2000...it doesnt sound like the hardest thing especially having both cars at my disposal

With 2 cars it shouldnt be too bad. If you dont buying the missing parts you need will make the project cost 3-4x it normally should.

well its gunna be mostly a strip car...no ac or heat or any of that stuff...pry keep the radio and your normal turn signals, gauges and stuff like that...but no cruise, traction control, abs or any of that stuff...hopefully it wont be too hard

I'm not sure if your gauges will have issues. The project is not impossible, but you may be better off trying to find a used LT1 car or a roller 93-97 Z28 chassis. You'll need springs, k-member, etc, etc.

Have a look at this....

so basically the dash change would most likely be the gauges...so the main pain is the wiring...which i assume having both cars splicing the 2 together would take most of the time...i wish i could find a 93-96 roller but i seem to only find 98+

maybe doing a whole dash conversion would be easier...just tear out the 2000 and sell it and use the 96 whole thing...i think that would cut down on some of the harder wiring parts

Personally never done it, but doesn't seem worth it. You can buy a motor/tranny damaged lt1 car for cheaper than you're time going through the wiring. The rear end and tranny have to be exchanged too.
