The LT5 is a totally different engine. I believe it has dual overhead cams amoung many other differences. Not worth the trouble if its even possible. Maybe someone else can chime in who knows more about them

Well you can probably swap the whole engine. But they are totally different blocks. Not like the lt4. It would be very expensive though and not worth the cost. You could build a very nice 383 stroker for less money. This has been asked quite a few times before so if you do a search you can probably find out more info on this.

Not only that, but the cost of rebuilding an LT5 is over 12K. Those Lotus designed Mercury Marine built DOHC 32v V8's are sweet, but damn expensive to work on. Heck, the starter is under the intake manifold in the V of the engine... It'd be cheaper and more reliable to do a heads, cam, and rebuild of the stock block...And you could be just as fast...

Try a search. You are suggesting a very expensive project.

The other problem is if the massive heads would even fit. GM did a 3rd gen with the LT5, and it's a damned tight fit...
