To make it as easy as possible use a lt1 radiator, electric fans, in line fuel pump, stand alone harness, gas pedal with cable and programed computer for your application.
This has been done many many times befor so do a search at the various web sites and take notes. Aquier all the parts first before you dig in and it will turn out fine. My advice would be to get the factory service manual for the donor engine and a good scaner. The factory service manual will have all the codes in it and will be much simpler to trace any problems you might have

already have the computer? check out ebay for the stand alone wiring harness. they look to be a pretty good quality, and decent priced. also need the hydraulics for the clutch

Minor point on the fuel pump... its not "in line", its "in tank". You need a pump that can supply ~190LPH at 43.5psi.

Walbro 255 LPH Inline Fuel Pump GSL392 TPI LT1 LS1 NEW

They have the inline fuel pumps for efi which work just fine on earlier chevys. They are just starting to make efi tanks for the 60 chevys at about 6 to 700.00 including pump

My misunderstanding... since you listed the "inline" pump with other stock componenets, I thought you were suggesting it was a stock component, not aftermarket.

The AC compressor on the F body LT1 may require you to notch the frame in the Chevy for clearance. Or look at an aftermarket accessory system. You may also be able to use the Corvette accessories/bracket; my friend did in his mid 70's Camaro.

You may also contact http://www.currentperformance.com/ for a custom wiring harness. They can build you a one off harness to run everything in the car plus the motor and transmission.

Nastyz28 has a section devoted to retrofits. Here is a link of a guy doing a nice retrofit. Nott 100% what you want to do but should get you pointed in the right direction.

Re: LT! Transplant into 60 impala-Help

I decided to put a pump in my tank because of space concerns in my Vega. It wasn't that hard. I used a thirdgen F-Body pump assembly. It was from a TPI car and it was about $25 from the local pick-a-part. I put a new pump on and bent the lines so that the pump was nearly touching the bottom of my tank.

I went with an Earl's inline EFI filter and some Russel fuel line fittings. Pretty easy. Went braided from the pickup assembly to the fuel line and also brained from the fuel line to the fuel rail. I think my pump was an off-the-shelf replacement from Kragen and cost about $50.

If you need any help, let me know. I have a '93 LT1/T56 in a '72 Vega.
