LT header install ?
E-brake on. Leave car in park. Jack on the front K-member. Set stands on front frame rails. Remove jack. Jack by rear end housing. Set stands on rear frame rails. Set wheels/tires under chassis just in case. Give car a good push to make sure it's nice n stable and get to work
The back end needs to be jacked up too? Will I need 6 ton jacks for that as well? Wouldn't it be a little wobbley trying to jack up the rear with only the stands holding it up? Thanks for all the help by the way.

I put my hooker lt's on by way of ramps in front and jack stands in back. I had the back level with the front b/c the driv. side header had to go in from the bottom. Only thing I had to remove was the starter, plugs, and alternator. I spent more time with the plugs and header bolts than anything else.
NO they are rock solid on the stands mine was on 6 ton stands for about a month with me holerin and cussin and screamin and beating on things tryin to get the motor out and back in trust me it isnt going to fall just simply puttin headers in.
Its real simple, Jack the front, put the stands under it, same at the rear, the one thing i think would be useful i dont i havent installed headers on mine but when i do get some i have thought about using our cherry picker and undoing the engine mount through bolts and raising the motor up a couple of inches. Doing this when i have done my plug changes has made my life much more easy so i figure why wouldnt it help out while installing headers.

Wouldn't it be more difficult to jack the engine up with a cherry picker than to just go from the bottum? I have 2 3 ton jack stands that have a total height of 16 inches, plus 2 ramps about 7-8 inches high. Do you think I would be able to use these, or would I need higher jack stands?
Also, HK45, roughly how high where your ramps/stands?

yes putting them in from the bottom is the way to go but what i mean is still lift the front of the motor up that couple of inches and still put them in from the bottom, like i said i have never installed a set so i dont know but i have lifted my motor off of the mounts just an inch or two and it does make things simpler especially getting your arms up along side the block on the 2 center cylinders
I'll try it with the 16" jack stands in the front, ramps on the back, and tires under the front for added security. If this doesn't work, I'll just throw a wrench at the wall and go buy new jacks. I just have one more safety question. Would it be safer to keep the the tires on the ground or on the ramps? Which would be easier.
I thought doing my Jet Hott long tubes was fairly easy. Now that i know the best way to do it, it is really easy. I just pulled the motor mount bolt out of the drivers side and attached the engine hoist to the drivers head and lifted about 2 inches. Slid in the header, droped it back down, put back in the bolt. Then did the same with the other side. You have to take off your alternater of course. This makes things so simple. And you dont have to scratch the crap out of your headers.
