I had a similar breather set up like The Engineer when I came on here, but the more I learned how this system works the more I realized that the stock set up is good...I did add the Deutsch breather filter BF412 in place of the open elbow, on the passenger side valve cover and ran the stock line to the TB....11.30s at almost 120 and zero issues...no oil in the TB and the system is still sealed...I still have the AIR and EGR stuff hooked up, too...

In the case of a Monoblade, I have no provision for that hose. I have conventional smallblock valvecovers, a baffled hole in each one, a super vic conversion. Bret and I talked today, I am thinking my best bet is a push in breather in one cover, a PCV in the other with the hose ran to a sealed seperator/catch can like this...

then into the manifold. Thoughts?
Bret wants me to seal the system same as above but with no breather in the opposite valvecover...don't see how that would work, I think I missed the boat on what he was trying to expalin to me....again thoughts?

My brother's car (not exactly an LT1) has breathers on it, and frankly they suck. Unless you are running bone stock valve covers, you'll be spewing oil all over your engine compartment. The breathers, even in a 1-2 week span, get saturated with oil and begin to leak it all over the valve covers. Or you get the crankcase gases condensing on your hood and leaking all over the place.
On another SBC car we installed a stock-like PCV system (one PCV valve, oil cap on the other valve cover) and never had a problem. After a couple thousand miles, just a little bit of oil on the PCV filter, and no mess on the valve covers.
I would recommend adding a seperator to the stock system, the least amount of hassle and you will solve your problem.

yes purolator makes one I can't remember the part # off the top of my head, do a search, it presses into the valve cover and the hose (shortened a bit) presses onto the other hole in it. Btw that breather, is the pcv breather.
I use the Deutsch breather filter part #BF412 in my passenger side valve cover then use the stock hose from it to the TB port...It collects any blow by oil in it and then allows it to drain back into the valve cover w/o getting into the TB...Autozone sell them for $5.00...Been working great for me...

I just use a longer PCV hose(heater hose from advance auto) and instead of running it into my intake like stock, I just ran the hose down the front of the engine bay. I capped the intake hole where the stock PCV hose attached. I already have a little intake leak anyway, so another very minor leak means nothing to me. That little inline filter didn't work for me either.
