White sludge in valve cover air breather.

Well I took the air breather off to clean it and polish up the valve covers. On the right side ( drivers side ) valve cover air breather there is this white sludge inside of it, what the hell is it? The other side doesnt have it. Im not sure if its do to age of these valve covers or what.

I don't know but if its white and sludge you better get to the doctor really quick....

Its water. When moisture mixes with the oil, it will turn it white. It is not unusual to get a small amount of this under certain conditions, especailly with aluminum valve covers, but it could be an indication of a problem. Does it go away when the car is run at operating temp? It should burn off after the motor gets hot. If not you may have a coolant leak.

Good Luck

Now keep in mind these valve covers sat on this engine for 7 years b4 I started her up for the first time in awhile and Im still using them But I just gave it an oil change and checked the rad .... no white stuff

I would imagine its condensation from shutting a hot motor down and letting it cool off.
