LT 1 splayed main caps

Ok so I figure I have a spun main bearing not totaly sure yet I don't have the motor out. But anyway has anyone had any kind of problems having splayed mains put in clearence wise or anything else. I know the last motor I built with splayed mains it was very hard to check the oil. The main cap was in the way and you had to fight getting the dipstick in to check the oil.

Just depends on the style of splayed main caps you're using. I didn't have an issue with mine.

Obviously, if the bottom end was not machined/assembled correctly you could end up with a spun bearing. But since you don't even know what is damaged, why speculate?

Tear it down and see what it really wrong, then develop a plan of action.

I went with pro grams main caps. They have both styles for dipstick and without dipstick.
