LS7 Lifter ?

Does anyone know for sure if the LS7 Lifter will be a direct replacement in the LT1 motors. I am doing the gm847 cam and want to upgrade my stock 82,000 mile lifter. I read that they require a longer pushrod is that true. Thankyou

They are a direct replacement. I have them in my car with the gm847 right now. Mine are set to 1/2 past zero lash. Also stock length one piece hardened pushrods.

I also used them on my current cam project. CC503, stock length pushrod and 1/2 past zero lash. No problems yet with anything fitting incorrectly.

The cup is sitting a little deeper then the stock lifters so you would need a little bit longer pushrods.

Direct replacement, not too mention they are relatively cheap compared to some of the other offerings on the market.

Direct replacement. Definately the way to go for those who are $$$ conscious.

Are we talking about the Caddy racing lifters or the stock LS7 lifters?
The stock LS7's are not a direct replacement. The cup depth is considerably different and you will need to measure and get the correct pushrods.

Did you check your valvetrain geometry to make sure?

You should *always* check your valvetrain geometry... regardless of what you hear from anyone on the internet.

i agree... Buy them and check your pushrod length with the length tool that you can buy from any auto parts store or jegs, summit or etc. NEVER just go by what someone says because you may end up with a costly mistake

They changed my valvetrain geometry. The rocker tip was not centered on the valve stem with stock length PRs but the stock lifters was when I swapped cams..

all of you that said this, how do you know for sure? when i put mine in they sure looked different. i would guess you need a slightly longer pushrod but maybe adjusting the rockers can compensate
