Most places sell replacement LS1 and LT1 lifters as the same, from what I have seen.

they look identical to me. I bought some LT1 used lifters to modify to make solids for mockup/clearance testing and whatnot, and they look identical.

the plates that hold them in place in the block, not any part of the lifters, the lifters are the same

One of the few things to carry over to Gen III was the lifter diameter.

That still surprises me that they didn't increase the diameter.

DAve89IROC,
How are the p[lates different, Where could I see some pictures of them, and if the lifters are all the same so then should not the LS1 lifters be able to be held in with the stock LT1 plates then, or do ya mean just that the LS1 plates are better quality for some reason, But either plates will work to hold them in Correct??

the lifters are the same. just reuse your lifter spider (retainer). the LS1's use a totally diff. way of keeping the lifter in place and not rotating. dont worry about it. scoggin dickey has great deals on LS7 lifters Ive hears, also there's a perf. lifter thats made for the cadilac cts-v. not sure which ones the best price though.

I was surprised at that too. Probably has to do with production machinery - like the 4.40" bore center which also carried over.
