what will it take to do this .... i can get a LS1 pretty cheap with real low miles........

It is not worth the money. It takes motor, tranny, kmember, wiring harness, hood, air box, and a nice amount of "custom fabrication".

yea you'd need a trans to fit the LS1 engine...WAY too much $$$ and not worth it once its done...

just do what everyone else advises...port the hell outta your heads and toss in a cam...

Real pain in the but...just mod the LT1 up you'll be better off...You can make the LT1 way faster alot easier/cheaper

*and* have a stronger bottom end that "may" last better than an aluminum one.
