What does every one think? My car needs to be rebuilt... it's going to cost around 3700, or instead i have a freind that will sell me an LS1 with lower miles on it with the tranny wirring harness and ecm. Everything needed pretty much. and it'll only cost me in the area of 2 grand. Is it doable? whats your thoughts?

There was sombody else on this board too that took like a 94 or somthing lt1 camaro and totaly converted it to an ls1 type camaro. Forget the user name though.

ive done the whole ls1 thing and im not impressed...these things idle like crap and driveability sux...ive had a dynotune and byran herter tune it twice still sux!

Same here when my shortblock takes a **** on me.

 

Motley's Crew has chimed in therefore it must be a str8 up legit swap.

 

No spray yet, maybe next year. Haven't had much time to mess w/ the car this year so I'm a little behind schedule and nothing has really changed.

To the OP, having a donor car is the easiest way to do it, so you should be set.

 

ive considered it but i decided that if i build an LS1 its going in another car... probably a v6 body.

 

I wouldn't be too against putting a 500cid LSx into a Fiero.

 

Be cool...stuff a huge big block Chevy into your car.
