LS1 intake on LT1

This idea just floated in and out of my head and i had to ask...

is it possible to modify or simply bolt up an LS1 intake to an LT1? i was just curious if it was possible and what some of the hangups might be?

Well it depends on what he meant, air intake=yes, intake manifold=no.

The filter setup can be made to work, but it will never fit under your hood.

Re: LS1 intake on LT1

I think somebody on this board did it, but it took alot of fabricating to make it work.

Re: LS1 intake on LT1

The intake manifold would never work, the heads are so completely different. Good for them, bad for us.

Air intake: Yes it can and has been done. Its easier on a frontal Ram Air hood like a UltraZ or WS6, but has been done with the stock hood. In fact there was a company selling kits for the stock hood setup. I dont think it took alot of fabricating either.

Either way do a search, its been discussed many times. I think there are a few 5+ page threads about it.

Re: LS1 intake on LT1

All I did was got a ram air T/A LT1 box lid and put it on my LT1 with the LS1 intake setup and used the LT1 tubes. So I used the LS1 box and LT1 lid.

Re: LS1 intake on LT1

Next time someone posts this topic, I hope they make it clear whether they are talking about the intake manifold or the intake airbox and ducting. "blahster" has yet to clarify what he was asking about.

Re: LS1 intake on LT1

sorry. i knew the air intake could be used.
i wasn't sure if the manifold could be used or not...what i really want to use is the throttle body...but i reckon a complete LS1 swap is the only way....:P
