LS1 driveshaft on an LT1, How good is it???

Is it worth spending the money on an LS1 driveshaft?? Whats the difference? Thanks

Lighter, and tend to vibrate less. Not as strong though.

arent they both rated for the same speed around 155-160mph i believe? yet i know people who have taken them way past that even though not recommended

If you can get one used for like 125-150 then they are worth it. I had serious vibration at 80-90mph. I swapped in the LS1 DS and the vibs went away.

How good is the LPE driveshaft compared to the LS1's? It must be stronger I would assume, but is it a good investment?

SLP has there upgraded LT4 driveshaft on sale for $199.

This is an improved version of the heavy-duty steel driveshaft used in our 1997 LT4 Firehawk and Camaro SS car program. Now equipped with even heavier wall tubing, it's significantly stronger than the stock LT1 and L98 steel shafts as well as the 1LE aluminum piece. New features include a harmonic balancer on the yoke that further reduces drivetrain vibration over the previous design. We've even lowered the price!
