Lowering vehicle w/ 11's

Hello.

I have seen numerous websites and threads pertaining to modifying a vehicle so a 315 tire on an 11 rear rim will not rub. I never had those issues on my bone stock suspension.

Now, I am adding BMR springs to the car, among other things- and am curious as to what to expect.

If I get rubbing...what do I need to do to correct it?

you might want to order a BMR adj. panhard bar with those springs .. it'll help to re-center the rear after the car is lowered..

Definitely, I have 315's, and I put a BMR APHR in to correct the rear axle alignment after dropping it, its about the easiest mod in the world (as long as you have a big a** wrench.

Actually, I am also installing said Panhard Rod!

Here's what's going on:
Boxed SFC's
APHR
LCA's
Xtreme Torque Arm w/ Crossbrace
Springs

I take it with the APHR, I will be avoiding rubbing problems?
And fwiw- it's hillarious, after a few launches with my DR's on the 11's- it bent the original PHR, and my rear was crooked. lol. It was so bent, that if you were to lay it on a flat surface, you could roll a marble under the middle of it!!

Lots of Power + Stamped steel = Bent PHR

NO power + stamped steel = bent PHR! LOL

Also, they are the standard GS backspacing as offered by AFS on their ZR1 Rims.

36mm? No wonder they don't rub on the inside!! If you lower the car you'll probably have to roll the lip of the fender.

Actaully if they do have the same backspacing as the GS wheels, which is 50mm, then you will not have to roll your lip. You might have to do some inner fender work to the ride, but the outer should be good to go. I am actually surprised that you are not rubbing on the inside now. Do you run DR on the back all the time? If so maybe that is why they are not rubbing, I know GSC's and FZ50's usually rub.

That's why I thought he was running the 36mm. I didn't know a 50mm wouldn't rub something!!!

my prediction is that when you shorten up the panhard rod to center the rear suspension you are going to have rubbing on the passenger side fender. I only have 9.5" rims and had this problem when i used an adjustable panhard rod. I rolled my fenders and it wasn't enough. SLP sells "jounce bump spacers" which is a 30 dollar bump stop. The bump stops are a wierd shape, and although i'm sure you could rig up your own spacer I just bought theirs.

I am interested to see what happens when I take it off the lift.
And yes, the DR's are on 100% of the time. It's almost time to change 'em too. At least I got a full year out of them.
