why do I have low oil presure with only 35000km on my engine?

 

Could be the gauge or the sending unit for the gauge. Most likly the sending unit. these gauges arnt exactly the most precise instruments. They were put in more as a novelty. All across the board you will hear different readings at diffrent rpms.

 

Thanks fbird 95. I had the oil pressure manually tested and it was 6psi at warm idle which really scares me when the check gauges light comes on cause then it must be below 6psi then which is not good. I just can't beleive it. Never raced her or drove it hard, can't figure why this happening to my car with low milage. Makes me wonder whats next.

 

mine is pretty low to, at wrm idle it is probably little under 20, but then it goes up with the more rpm..but I don't know iof it goes up high enough

 

Using a Fram filter? I found a fram filter will lower my oil pressure, and an AC Delco filter will not.

 

does your check gauges light come on? If it does then your having the same problem as me. Now figuring out what's causing it I don't know
