Low Oil Pressure After Seafoam?
I seafoamed my TA this morning following this guide. How To Seafoam Your Car & Clean Carbon Buildup | Tech Aids & Articles I have used it before but never added half a can to my oil. Well I did this time and after driving about 10 miles my oil pressure is sitting at about 20 psi in park and about 10psi in drive. Did the seafoam just break up all the sludge and clog the oil filter/pickup?
Re: Low Oil Pressure After Seafoam?
I have heard of high mileage engine with lot of sludge causing issues when all that is released. I would replace the oil filter and see if that helps. It can't be good to instantly have all that buildup, at once removed and going through the motor. I always figured that leaving all that where it was, was the best idea. Good Luck! You probably don't have that much to worry about.
Re: Low Oil Pressure After Seafoam?
My friend alway put that in his engine, before every oil change. But when he bought a used car and threw that crap in there and ran it then changed the oil his oil pressure dropped and went to rattling. Its possible it bought crap loose and its stopping up the screen. I never put that stuff in my cars, my thoughts are, keep you oil changed and filter, along with running good oil, your engine will stay clean. Good luck.
What did you think was going to happen?
If your problem is from a clogged screen, instead of removing the pan you can try getting a Bilstein engine flush. As I recall the flow from that machine is backwards and cleans the screen.

i was reading about cfoaming my car most of the threads said that you have to change the oil 100mile of driving or you will loose oil pressure or will miss up the sensor so do oil change then check it out
