For awhile I have been wondering if I have low oil pressure because my gauge reads pretty low. At idle, my oil pressure is just slightly below the first hash mark and under normal driving, it moves up to a little above that first hash mark. Is this normal or should I start to worry. Thank you.

 

If you mean it is on either side of the 20 psi mark, I would be concerned. May be a bad oil pressure sensor. If not, I would be getting a new oil pump installed very soon.

 

Yeah, it is at the 20 psi mark. I was thinking, could the type of oil be an issue? I still run synthetic 10W30 and my car has about 90k on it.
